CHAPTER 14. TRAFFICCHAPTER 14. TRAFFIC\Article 2. Local Traffic Regulations

(a)   Truck means every motor vehicle designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property.

(b)   Truck Tractor means every motor vehicle designed and used primarily for drawing other vehicles and not so constructed as to carry a load other than a part of the weight of the vehicle and load so drawn.

(a)   Trucks delivering or picking up property within the city shall take the most direct route to the place of business or residence, and the most direct out of the city upon completion of business.

(b)   Regulatory signs shall prohibit the travel of trucks and truck tractors from a point outside the city to a point outside the city and shall read "NO THRU TRUCKS". Such signs shall be placed in accordance with city resolutions.

(c)   Regulatory signs shall prohibit the travel of trucks and truck tractors over 26,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and shall read "NO TRUCKS OVER 26,000 LBS EMPTY WEIGHT". Such signs shall be placed in accordance with city resolutions.

(d)   It shall be unlawful for a truck or truck tractor to stop in either the east or west bound lane(s) of McKay Street, between Labette Street and Cayuga Street, for the purpose of delivering any item to a business or residence, during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Violations of this article shall be a municipal offense and may be prosecuted in Municipal Court. Any person so charged and found guilty in Municipal Court of violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a municipal offense and shall carry a mandatory fine of $500.00. Each calendar day in which a violation is observed shall constitute a separate offense.
